Support for Parents & Kids

Adoptive Parents Support

In this psycho-educational group meeting, there is a different topic and speaker each month. We share information about trauma and attachment, self-regulation, etc.

Adoptive Parents Support meets the second Thursday of each month, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Light refreshments are provided. Please note: Child care is available.

PEP Talk (Parents Empowering Parents)

In this drop-in group, parents share and connect to form informal networks and friendships with other adoptive parents. Parents lead and determine the topics of discussion each week.

PEP Talk meets the first and third Thursday of each month, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The meeting includes coffee and pastries. Please note: No child care is available.

Teen Scene

This is an adolescent support group for youth ages 13 through 18. This therapeutic group uses group discussion, interactive crafts and games to learn skills around trust building, integrity, communications, boundaries, friendship, etc.

Teen Scene meets the fourth Thursday of each month, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Pizza and a light snack are included. Note: This group is for post-adoptive teens only.

Forever Friends Kids’ Club

Forever Friends Kids’ Club includes any child in the home, ages 5 to 12, who is living with an adoptive child or has been adopted him/herself. This group relies heavily on interactive crafts and games to address topics such as bullying, cyber-safety, self-regulation, trust, friendship, etc.
